Pennsylvania's Democratic governor, Josh Shapiro, on Sunday called on law enforcement to investigate billionaire Elon Musk for his promise at a weekend pro-Trump rally to give away $1 million each day until Election Day.

While stumping for former President Donald Trump on Saturday, tech billionaire Elon Musk announced that he will give away $1 million each day to registered voters in battleground states, immediately drawing scrutiny from election law experts who said the sweepstakes could violate laws against paying people to register.

Elon Musk is offering $100 to registered voters in Pennsylvania to sign a pro-Donald Trump petition "in support of free speech" and the "right to bear arms."

Musk pinned a post on his X platform "If you’re a registered Pennsylvania voter, you & whoever referred you will now get $100 for signing our petition in support of free speech & right to bear arms. Earn money for supporting something you already believe in!"

Musk announced the giveaway at a town hall event in Pittsburgh on Saturday, and handed someone in the audience a $1 million check.
