The College Basketball season is almost here, and that means it's time for the preseason rankings. Kentucky fans got their first taste of this year's team, and now know if where the Wildcats will begin the season among the top 25.

Despite seeing John Calipari depart for SEC rival Arkanas, Mark Pope and Kentucky men's basketball is ranked No. 23 in the preseason AP poll:

(WYMT) - After week seven of college football, the top ranked teams in the latest AP Top 25 Poll sees minimal changes. Kentucky was Vanderbilt’s most recent conquest after the Commodores beat the Wildcats 20-13 during homecoming in Lexington. Vanderbilt received 68 votes and Kentucky picked up zero in this week’s rankings.

Kansas has been the preseason No. 1 team in college basketball five times since Bill Self took over the program over two decades ago. After starting last season as the preseason top-ranked team, the Jayhawks failed to meet expectations and lost during the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year.

Oregon is the new No. 1 team in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after Texas suffered its first loss of the 2024 college football season. The Longhorns
